Allocation Procedure for First-Year Students – Mechatronics Eng
Students admitted to the first year of the Mechatronics study programme may choose to study either in Romanian or in English. Accordingly, two groups will be formed for the first year: one Romanian-taught group and one English-taught group.
Students who wish to enrol in the English-taught Mechatronics programme must submit a standard application form (template attached), addressed to the management of the Department of Mechatronics and Machine Dynamics, indicating their choice to study in English.
The application must be submitted to the Secretariat of the Department of Mechatronics and Machine Dynamics at 103–105 B-dul Muncii, Room C305, Cluj-Napoca, phone: 0264 401 606, mobile: 0740 436 978, or sent by e-mail to Liliana.Ferezan@mdm.utcluj.ro, no later than 15 September 2026.
To enrol in the English-taught programme, students must provide proof of English language proficiency through one of the following options:
- Hold an internationally recognised language proficiency certificate at a minimum B2 level or equivalent (e.g. Cambridge, IELTS, LCCI, etc.).
A copy of the certificate must be attached to the application form. The original certificate must be presented to the English language assessment committee on 28 September 2026, at 11:30, in Room B102.
Important! The language proficiency assessment obtained as part of the Romanian Baccalaureate examination is NOT accepted for this purpose.
- Take the English language proficiency test organised by the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca through the Department of Modern Languages and Communication.
The English language test will take place on Monday, 28 September 2026, at 11:30, in Room B102.

Note: If the number of students who choose the English-taught programme and meet the language proficiency requirements exceeds the number of available places, students will be selected in descending order of their admission average.
